The Eternal Third Temple
This is the Eternal Third Temple,
My servant David shall be King over them; there shall be one shepherd for all of them. They shall follow My rules and faithfully obey My laws. Thus they shall remain in the land which I gave to My servant Jacob and in which your fathers dwelt; they and their children and their children's children shall dwell there forever, with My servant David as their prince for all time. 26 I will make a covenant of friendship with them- it shall be an everlasting covenant with them- I will establish them and multiply them, and I will place My sanctuary among them forever. 27 My presence shall rest over them; I will be their God and they shall be My people. 29 And when My Sanctuary abides among them forever, the nations shall know that I the Lord do sanctify Israel.
Dedicating Time and Support for People
with Intellectual Disabilities
August 22, 2015
Jewish Tradition is exceptionally broad and respectful in its aim to help all members of society including the widow, orphan and people with special needs.
AKIM-Jerusalem (www.akim-jerusalem.org.il), throughout its 64-year history has aimed at seeking fairness and justice for persons with intellectual disabilities. We believe not only is this goal attainable, but once it is achieved there is benefit to that individual with impairments, to their families and everyone else in the community.
The birth of a child with an intellectual disability does not distinguish between skin color, religion, political and other affiliations. It can happen in every family.
The aims of AKIM-Jerusalem's "Parshat Shoftim" campaign is to raise funds for AKIM-Jerusalem's family support program and to offer the members of your community a chance to extend concrete help to families in Jerusalem who struggle daily to meet the challenge of maintaining a normal family life while at the same time, supporting their children with disabilities.
This year's appeal on Shabbat "Parshat Shoftim", (Judges) will be over the weekend of August 22. We suggest that on Shabbat Shoftim itself a member of your community speaks about the need to increase fairness and justice in society with particular emphasis on caring for people with special needs.
Please encourage your members to make a gift online through our secure page on JRaise where everyone will receive appropriate tax deductible receipts –http://my.jraise.com/ennew/shabbatforakimjerusalem.
Should you find it helpful, I can send you information, stories, flyers and a short film that can be passed on to your congregants. For further information about AKIM-Jerusalem's "Parshat Shoftim" campaign, please contact me at email@example.com.
